The Blahs

Published by apegram at 8:40 pm under 1 Edit This

It was one of those blah kind of days. Blah days happen a lot to me on Monday. I guess after the busyness of the weekend, it’s a little bit hard to get back to the normal stuff of washing clothes, vacuuming, cooking, etc…
So, here’s what I do to help me through the blahs:

1. Try to get something accomplished, even if it’s small. Usually on a blah day, I’ll feel like doing absolutely nothing, but I know I’ll feel better if I do something. Today, I cut up and froze all those strawberries I picked over the weekend.

2. Go outside! It was beautiful today, and going for a walk pushing the stroller was great exercise. I try to stay outside as much as possible on a blah day. It really does help to feel the fresh air and sunshine.

3. Think of something to look forward to, and plan a little for it. We’re going on a family vacation to the beach, so I spent a some time daydreaming about relaxing on the beach.

4. Give yourself permission to have a special treat during the day. My special treat is coffee, so during nap time I had another cup of coffee and spent some time reading.

So, what helps you when you’re having a blah day?

I usually go for a walk with my daughter and the dog when I have a lazy day as the fresh air really helps get me motivated…

I also get engery from spending time outside - unfortunately it’s been grey and cold here for the last three days, which only contributes to my “blahs”…
